Treasure Island Main Street Theatre Works is a non-profit, community-based, volunteer-run organization, striving to produce professional-quality theatrical productions in the Motherlode. As theatre is a collaborative art, we welcome your help and support. See below for auditions, behind-the-scenes opportunities, and ways to contribute.

Auditions

Casting is under way for the 2012 summer season. If you wish to be added to an email list regarding upcoming auditions, please inquire at auditions@mstw.org.

Balcony Club

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the theatre? Join the Balcony Club and find out. The Balcony Club gives you the opportunity to join other volunteers who do everything from creating the sets, acquiring the props, sewing the costumes, controlling the lights and sounds, ushering attendees and the myriad of other tasks that make for a successful stage production. You'll be delighted to see the results of your efforts when you see the plays performed! Many volunteers help out in other ways, too--designing play-related artwork, handling advertising and public relations, and even planning parties! Here's your chance to meet other people who share your interest in the theatre. Membership is free, and the rewards are many.

A new area where we need plenty of help is with the continuing development and construction of the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre. If you have a flare for architectural design, construction, landscaping, gardening, or just enjoy working outdoors, we need your help! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Frannie Weinrob.

"Buy a Brick" for the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre

Be a part of local history and help support the arts in the Motherlode by joining the "Paving a Pathway to the Stars" fund-raiser. We have come a long way since our inaugural amphitheatre production of Much Ado About Nothing in 2004: new terraces, accessable walkways, and the soon-to-be-completed permanent bathrooms. Become a supporting player in our efforts: purchase an engraved brick, which will then be placed in one of the theatre's walkways. This could be a special gift to a friend or family member - what a wonderful way to remember a loved one! The bricks are $100 each, and may be engraved with a maximum of two lines, no more than 15 characters per line. To purchase a brick, or for more information, contact Susan McCandless, Artistic Director.
