Cast breakdown for Wonder of the World:
Parts available:
• Cass: (30’s – 40’s) The protagonist, a woman who leaves her husband, eager to finally experience her life’s “to-do” list items after discovering his secret, leading her to Niagara Falls. Bubbly, kooky, free-spirited.
• Lois: (30’s – 50’s) A desperate alcoholic and stranger Cass meets, who is determined to commit suicide by going over Niagara Falls in a barrel as revenge on her husband. Desperate but determined.
• Kip Harris: (30’s – 40’s) Cass’s seemingly-perfect Ken doll of a husband. The bearer of a shocking, dirty little secret that causes his wife to leave him. Desperate to bring Cass back home. Eager, idealistic, clueless.
• Karla: (50’s – 60’s) A woman dabbling as a private detective. Has a sordid little secret of her own. Impatient, opportunistic. Thinks her husband is an idiot.
• Glen: (50’s – 60’s) Karla’s husband, also a private detective, also with a questionable past. Friendly, optimistic, inept.
• Captain Mike: (30’s – 40’s) The suave and dreamy captain of the Maid of the Mist. Cass’s new love interest. Suave, generous, naive.
* The multiple-character role of Barbara, Janie, Pilot and Waitresses has already been cast.

Be a Volunteer
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the theatre? Become a volunteer with our Balcony Club. The Balcony Club gives you the opportunity to join other volunteers who do everything from creating the sets, acquiring the props, sewing the costumes, assisting backstage, working in the box office, and the myriad of other tasks that make for a successful stage production. You'll be delighted to see the results of your efforts when you see the plays performed! Many volunteers help out in other ways, too ~ designing play-related artwork, assisting with social media promotion, and even planning parties! Here's your chance to meet other people who share your interest in the theatre. Membership is free, and the rewards are many.
A new area where we need plenty of help is with the continuing development and construction of the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre, as well as sets for our Summer Shows.

If you have a flare for architectural design, construction, landscaping, gardening, or just enjoy working outdoors, we need your help! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Joanne Shugart.

"Buy a Brick" for the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre
Be a part of local history and help support the arts in the Motherlode by joining the "Paving a Pathway to the Stars" fund-raiser. We have come a long way since our inaugural amphitheatre production of Much Ado About Nothing in 2004: new terraces, accessible walkways, ADA parking, a fully-stocked concessions booth and indoor bathrooms. Become a supporting player in our efforts: purchase an engraved brick, which will then be placed in one of the theatre's walkways. This could be a special gift to a friend or family member - what a wonderful way to remember a loved one! The bricks are $100 each, and may be engraved with a maximum of two lines, no more than 15 characters per line. To purchase a brick, or for more information, contact Susan McCandless, Artistic Director.
